Work and learning centres
Work and learning centres offer tailored support to help public housing tenants find work.
Work and learning centres work closely with local employers to connect people to local jobs and training
Work and learning advisors will work with you, taking into account your skills and experience, to develop a plan to help you find a job.
The centres can give you training and even opportunities for work experience. They can also give you support once you've started a new job.
Work and learning advisors work with you to create a work and learning pathway plan.
Your plan could include:
- Career guidance and job service training
- Computer classes
- Vocational training with local providers
- Advice on how to get a job, including résumé writing and interview coaching
- Advice on what local employers need
- Work opportunities through links with local employers
- Support services like health and mental health services, drug and alcohol support and child care.
The centres also take referrals from local services and health professionals.
Drop in to your local work and learning centre to find out more and get involved.
