1.2 Maintenance Standards
Outlines responsive maintenance and provides the policy framework for public housing rental properties.
The standard applies to all existing Office of Housing owned, managed and funded public housing and community housing.
The Office of Housing has asset management responsibility for approximately 74,000 direct tenure and community managed properties. The efficient and timely delivery of maintenance services to public housing is a key feature of the Office of Housing's commitment to tenants.
Effective maintenance services will maximise the amenity of properties for tenants and provide a consistent standard of service.
Maintenance of Office of Housing properties is targeted to extend the economic viability of its assets and minimise future capital costs. The Maintenance Standards provide the policy framework to achieve this. The Maintenance Standards have been developed to reflect all relevant legal requirements as well as recognising current industry practice.
