Modifying your home
If you want to make changes to your home, such as putting in air conditioning or a satellite dish for pay TV, you must obtain approval from your local housing officer.
Usually, it will be up to you to pay for any changes you want to make and you will also need to pay any ongoing costs. When you leave, you may be charged for removing any changes you’ve made to your home.
If you need to make changes because you have a disability, like putting in handrails or ramps, speak to your Housing Services officer about how to get them installed. In some cases, modifications as a result of disability are free of charge.
