Designs and inclusions
Movable units are self-contained, with a bedroom, ensuite bathroom/toilet/laundry and a living-room with an annexe kitchen.
Fittings include a stove, heater and hot water service and may be either electric, natural gas or LPG, providing there is already a gas connection to the main dwelling on the site. Walls and ceilings are insulated.
The kitchen and bathroom floors are vinyl and the living room and bedroom floors are carpeted. Units are painted according to a uniform colour scheme.
If you’re the occupant and you are disabled, modifications such as ramps or extra grab rails are available. Units can be adapted to accommodate people confined to wheelchairs with non-structural modifications to the unit. If you need modifications like these, you need to show proof from your Doctor or Occupational Therapist.
The units usually have a panelled frame and floor. The roof is metal, external walls are clad with cement sheeting and internal walls are lined with plasterboard.
The units can be dismantled and carried through a relatively narrow access point.
All units have a shower, including a hand held shower rose and grab rails. We do not install a bath or hip bath.
All units should normally be placed 2 metres from any structure, 1.6 metres from any boundary fence, and can not be constructed over an easement.
Units must be placed within 10 metres of the main dwelling or it will cost extra to connect the external services.
Floor Plans
Please note: These are just a guide as there are several different layouts. Your unit may differ from the standard plan shown.
Subject to site constraints, there are two different types to choose from:
A square unit of 6 metres by 6 metres (approximately)
A rectangular unit of 8 metres by 5 metres, (approximately)
